We found it towed a 5000-pound trailer load like it wasn't there and a 15,000-pound trailer with ease. a luxurious sierra hd denali model is available in both 2500 single-rear-wheel and 3500 dual-rear-wheel models. The 2013 sierra hd denali comes standard with heated and cooled front seats, leather-wrapped heated steering wheel and rear camera. Polished aluminum 17-inch wheels are standard on sierra hd denali duallies and are available on sierra hd slt duallies. Denali is gm's answer to ford's king ranch and ram's lariat longhorn. Different hood trim, lights, grille, wheels and ruby red badges distinguish the gmc from the chevrolet. changes for 2013 are minor. Finding it may take some time because the backrest angle adjustment is manual and the power controls are on the side of the seat with the door very close.

These concise, tough, traditionally plain cars have an exceptionally devoted following in the marketplace, largely because subarus have the lived-in familiarity of a favorite pair of old shoes. But for 2012, something new, and almost un-subaru, has been added. the new 2012 impreza is the most dashing, stylish car subaru has ever dared produce. Given subaru's conservative, don't-rush-me tradition, this 2012 impreza is, in its own way, revolutionary. At a stellar 36 mpg highway/27 mpg city on the epa cycle, the impreza is the most fuel-efficient all-wheel-drive car in america. At the same time, while many competing cars continue to get heavier, the new impreza, depending on model and equipment, has lost up to 165 pounds in curb weight, contributing to increased fuel efficiency. subaru has long established itself as a builder of rugged small cars. According to the company, 95 percent of subarus sold in the past 10 years are still on the road. Only the loss of six weeks' production due to the tsunami in japan slowed 2011 sales. But the efficient new 2012 impreza, starting at the same base price as the 2011 impreza, achieves a significant jump in efficiency, value for dollar and appeal. Most models come standard with a 5-speed manual gearbox; a cvt continuously variable transmission (which works like an automatic) adds $1,000. Input jack, heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors, windshield wiper de-icers, auto on/off lights, climate control, chrome exterior door handles and grille accents, chrome-trim fog lights, leather upholstery, leather steering wheel and shifter, dual rear cup holders. The new car's wheelbase is one inch longer than the previous impreza, and the base of its a-pillar has been moved a massive 7. 9 inches forward. This slants the windshield steeply back resulting in a sleek, modern profile. this aggressive cabin shape, besides looking great, allows subaru designers to achieve startling improvements in interior space and efficiency. The new impreza is roomier, more comfortable and easier to get in and out of. A major element in this improvement is the fact that front door opening is almost five inches longer front to rear. The lower lip of the doorsill is also one inch lower than in the previous model, adding to ease of entry. The rear door opening is also longer, achieving the same benefits. All of this in a car that isn't one inch longer than the previous-generation model. in other respects, the new impreza is a pleasing, modern shape. The nose is aggressive, with dual low air intakes, shrouded for the lowest amount of aerodynamic drag. The rakishly shaped headlight clusters seem to glower with determination. The impreza's sides have three character lines, thrusting downward and ahead. Finally, the wheel wells are surrounded by a distinctive flat semicircular bevel that keeps the profile from looking too heavy. a stiffer chassis floor for 2012 allows the suspension to react more accurately to changing loads and more spirited driving. all in all, the 2012 impreza is one of the most attractive small cars in the marketplace, replacing the cheap/minimalist theme of some others with an appearance of true chic. interiorentering the cabin for the first time, the 2012 impreza has an airy, nicely stylish feel, with a relatively low beltline and a large greenhouse with large windows that welcome the outside world. The instrumentation on the dash looks simple and straightforward, as opposed to high-tech and demanding. It is a look that is fully in keeping with subaru's geewhiz-free approach. But the controls are by no means a throwback to the previous (2008-2011) model. The main dials for engine speed (redline 6600 rpm) and vehicle speed are black-on-white and almost disappointingly plain in keeping with subaru's no-nonsense tone. It comes with a smooth, powerful inline six-cylinder that gives up nothing to the ford explorer's available v8. Envoy carries five people in comfort with two rows of seats. envoy xl can carry seven passengers and is available with a v8 engine. Xl is a stretched, long-wheelbase version of the envoy. Its third row adds versatility. Xl lacks the response and stability of the standard envoy, however. gmc envoy shares its chassis and engine with the chevrolet trailblazer, buick rainier, and oldsmobile bravada. Each boasts unique styling, however. Envoy has conservative, upmarket styling. Each is available in sle or slt trim. Long-wheelbase models are called envoy xl and are 16 inches longer overall to provide a third row of seats for seven-passenger capacity. all envoys come standard with the vortec 4200, an all-new six-cylinder engine introduced for 2002. Its torque output is impressive at 275 pounds-feet. It's an excellent engine. a 5. 3-liter overhead-valve v8 is available for envoy xl that develops 290 horsepower and 325 pounds-feet of torque. One way to distinguish envoy xl from the standard envoy is to look at the rear doors. Envoy's rear doors are interrupted by the rear fenders. Envoy shares its platform with the chevrolet trailblazer, the upcoming buick rainier, and the outgoing oldsmobile bravada. envoy has a wide-mouth black grille with a big ruby red logo that says gmc all the way. Sleek and clean are the distinct headlamps, round fog lights and pouty front bumper with a wide, slim slit at the very bottom. Strong beveled shapes extend along the envoy's clean sides and around the wheel wells, and help make the envoy look imposing. Envoy dispenses with the trailblazer's showy fender flares, by housing its standard 17-inch wheels inside hefty fenders that are part of the trapezoidal design theme. Under that hood is gm's newly developed inline six-cylinder engine. Advancements in electronics, metallurgy and manufacturing now enable an inline engine to soar, and gm has fully exploited this technical opportunity. . interiorenvoy seats five passengers. Envoy xl seats seven. where ford explorer squeezes an optional third-row seat onto a 113-inch wheelbase, envoy xl uses a 129-inch wheelbase. Envoy xl is 18 inches longer than explorer. In theory, that should mean the envoy xl is a lot roomier. most of the envoy xl's extra length translates into increased roominess in the second row. Envoy xl provides 37. 5 inches of leg room and 58. 4 inches of hip room, versus the explorer's 35. 9 and 54. 2, respectively. Even the standard-wheelbase envoy betters the explorer in the second row, with 37. 1 inches of leg room and 58. 1 inches of hip room. envoy xl's third row isn't roomier than the explorer's, however. Head, hip, and leg room in the explorer's third row measure 39. 0, 45. 3, and 34. 8 inches, respectively. The corresponding numbers for the envoy xl are 38. 5, 45. 9, and 32. 2. They claimed feeling like they were sitting in a tunnel, however. gmc's seats seemed more comfortable to us than the chevrolet trailblazer's seats. The envoy's seat cushions are longer, wider and thicker than those in the trailblazer, and offer noticeably more side bolstering. We would choose an envoy over a trailblazer for the seats alone. Envoy slt's leather was way plush, while envoy sle's cloth was grippier. On the slt, the driver's bucket is eight-way power adjustable, with two-way lumbar support and optional heat. instrumentation is complete and clean. A big tachometer is on the left, speedometer in center, and on the right are smaller gauges for water, battery, gas and oil. The brushed nickel trim looks classy, with or without the wood. Turning a knob is easier than sliding a switch when bouncing on rough roads. Radio buttons are non-standard and we kept changing the channel when we meant to adjust the volume, but familiarity solves this. the center console houses an open storage bin, an enclosed compartment, and two cupholders forward of the gear lever. The emergency brake lever is also located there. There are pockets in the front doors and behind the front seats, but we'd like more places to put small items in the center console area. Behind the rear seat is a small hidden compartment under the floor, a cargo net and a power outlet. slt's overhead console includes a sunglasses holder and an optional travelnote digital recorder, which allows the driver to orally take phone numbers while on a cell phone. Heating and air conditioning can be controlled separately by the driver, front, and rear passengers. All the systems include rds (radio data systems) technology, allowing the listener to search for stations by type, display information including song and artist information, and provide traffic and weather updates. the onstar communications system is standard on the slt. We found storing the two roof panels eliminates most of the cargo space. Cargo space is not unlimited in the unlimited. But it's a relative thing. Xl lacks the response and stability of the standard envoy, however. gmc envoy shares its chassis and engine with the chevrolet trailblazer, buick rainier, and oldsmobile bravada. Each boasts unique styling, however. Envoy has conservative, upmarket styling. Each is available in sle or slt trim. Long-wheelbase models are called envoy xl and are 16 inches longer overall to provide a third row of seats for seven-passenger capacity. all envoys come standard with the vortec 4200, an all-new six-cylinder engine introduced for 2002. One way to distinguish envoy xl from the standard envoy is to look at the rear doors. Envoy's rear doors are interrupted by the rear fenders. Envoy shares its platform with the chevrolet trailblazer, the upcoming buick rainier, and the outgoing oldsmobile bravada. envoy has a wide-mouth black grille with a big ruby red logo that says gmc all the way. Sleek and clean are the distinct headlamps, round fog lights and pouty front bumper with a wide, slim slit at the very bottom. Strong beveled shapes extend along the envoy's clean sides and around the wheel wells, and help make the envoy look imposing. Envoy dispenses with the trailblazer's showy fender flares, by housing its standard 17-inch wheels inside hefty fenders that are part of the trapezoidal design theme. Under that hood is gm's newly developed inline six-cylinder engine. Advancements in electronics, metallurgy and manufacturing now enable an inline engine to soar, and gm has fully exploited this technical opportunity. . interiorenvoy seats five passengers. Envoy xl seats seven. where ford explorer squeezes an optional third-row seat onto a 113-inch wheelbase, envoy xl uses a 129-inch wheelbase. Envoy xl is 18 inches longer than explorer. In theory, that should mean the envoy xl is a lot roomier. most of the envoy xl's extra length translates into increased roominess in the second row. Envoy xl provides 37. 5 inches of leg room and 58. 4 inches of hip room, versus the explorer's 35. 9 and 54. 2, respectively. Even the standard-wheelbase envoy betters the explorer in the second row, with 37. 1 inches of leg room and 58. 1 inches of hip room. envoy xl's third row isn't roomier than the explorer's, however. It's smoother and more comfortable than the previous-generation models. Its interior is more convenient than before and the bold exterior styling looks terrific. Changes for 2004 only improve the ram's impressive towing and hauling capabilities. a new hemi v8 engine brings more power and efficiency to the dodge ram line of pickups. Added late during the 2003 model year, the 5. 7-liter hemi replaces the old 5. 9-liter v8, increasing power by 100 horsepower and 40 pounds-feet of torque while improving fuel economy by 10 percent. Bold lines give it a big, burly look, like it's ready to take on anything that comes its way. regular and club cabs have a 6-foot 6-inch bed, a good size for a compact truck. The quad cab, on the other hand, has a 5-foot 3-inch bed. According to dodge, people seldom need the full length of the longer bed. Those who need more cargo space can consider an optional bed extender, an aluminum cage that flips over the lowered tailgate to extend the bed by 18 inches. Sometimes the bed extender works great, but a lowered tailgate with a mesh opening won't hold dirt back like longer bed with a solid tailgate. The instrument panel was made easier to reach and easier to use, and almost all of the switchgear was changed. A notable example is the rotary dial for the electrically controlled transfer case, replacing the lever used previously. Door trim and carpeting were updated, as were the center and overhead consoles. Leather became an option on quad cabs, where it costs an extra $580 in 2002. A three-channel home security transceiver joins the option list. visibility from inside the dakota quad cab is outstanding. The driver sits high and there are no obvious blind spots. Optional 6x9-inch mirrors improve visibility rearward. The quad cab is roomy and comfortable. The wide console works well as a storage area for miscellaneous junk, but it gets in the way when fastening seat belts. A pullout cup holder at the foot of the center section is a nice touch. The driver and front seat passenger had tons of legroom. the rear doors open wide - about 37 inches. Getting in and out of the rear seat is aided by the fact that there is no cutout for the rear wheels (like there is in many sport-utilities). But a lack of clearance for heads and feet make getting out a bit more difficult than it should be. the rear seating area in the dakota quad cab is roomier than that of any other compact truck. But that only makes it the best of a bad lot, and legroom, particularly, is limited. There's good knee room, and plenty of headroom, but not a lot of foot space, so don't plan on stretching out. As in most of the smaller ``crew cab' pickups, the rear seat back is bolt upright and not very comfortable. Children and smaller adults should be happy enough back there, but taller folk will find the space confining. It also featured a trip computer and odometer that reports fuel economy and fuel tank range. We hit one particularly sandy section and switched easily into 4wd without dropping speed. Later, on a steep hill, we switched into 4wd-low and easily walked up a good 15 degree grade. only on washboard stretches of hard-packed dirt roads did the back end tend to lose its grip at speed - and even then only in two-wheel-drive mode. That's a fault common to most unloaded pickups. We were impressed with the quad cab's turning radius. For a truck its length, it makes relatively tight turns. the brakes deliver straight and true stopping power. This transmission was designed in tandem with the 4. 7-liter engine and they are precisely calibrated to each other, with an onboard computer continuously adjusting the shift pattern to match the way the truck is driven. A 3. 0:1 low ratio provides plenty of leverage to get rolling, followed by a shift up into a torquy 1. 67:1 second. But a kickdown from direct-drive third engages a higher-speed second ratio of 1. 50:1, which dodge says is better for passing. The wagons can carry a ton of cargo and are good for dogs. for 2007, the focus enjoys optional new leather-trimmed sport seats, two new exterior colors and upgrades to the sound systems. The focus is expected to get styling revisions and other upgrades for 2008, so expect deals on the 2007 models. the zx4 st is particularly sporting with strong acceleration from its 151-hp engine and sharp handling and precise steering from its sports suspension.
